About us
The year 1992 marks the beginning of the Iwama Takemusu Aikido movement in Lithuania. In 1995, the first seminar by Sensei Ulf Evenås took place. The year 1999 was significant for the development of Iwama Takemusu Aikido in Lithuania. A group of Lithuanians was invited to live and train in Sensei Ulf Evenås' dojo. This marked the beginning of a long and direct collaboration.
During the first decade of this century, our community grew and strengthened. In 2003, the first joint seminar of Lithuanian Iwama Takemusu Aikido clubs was held—a tradition that continues to this day. In 2004, the first international Aikido camp with Sensei Ulf Evenås was organized in Lithuania. For a long time, it remained the only such camp in the world.
In 2007, the Takemusu Aikido Association was established, uniting all groups in Lithuania that trained under Sensei Ulf Evenås. Five years later, the association was reorganized into the Lithuanian United Aikido Federation, which received recognition from the Aikido World Headquarters in Tokyo in 2013.
